NEXT RACE SUNDAY MAY 17th 2015

The ever popular Wheathampstead 10K run will be taking place on Sunday 17 May 2015, starting in Sheepcote Lane and ending up on the Marford Playing Fields. This annual event has become a favourite amongst local runners and even sees competitors from much further afield coming to the village, encouraged by reports of a run with a local feel that takes in some beautiful countryside.

The 10K race starts at 11 am and chip-timed mat to mat. Entries for the 10K are accepted in advance only as we have reached max capacity for the past 5 years. The team challenge will carry on this year in which various clubs, groups and organisations can enter.

The 10K is a challenging off-road course, and with its outstanding scenery and friendly village setting this is a popular run with all levels of runners - enter in advance by post or online via www.runnersworld.co.uk/Wheaty10K

New for 2014 - Local club challenge: enter via your local organisation/club/school/ and become its fastest finisher. Email us for further details and to find our whether your organisation/club/school is taking part.

The 2K Family Fun Run starts at 10 am from the Marford Playing Fields. This is an off road, circular run on good footpaths. It is ideal for families and for a pre-10K warm up, suitable for both runners and walkers of ALL ages.

On the day late entries for the 2K is open between 9 and 9.50 am.
There are NO LATE ENTRIES for the 10K.

The whole morning rounds off with a BBQ, café, bouncy castles and other fun for the children. It makes a really great morning out with the family.

10k RACE
A challenging off-road course, popular with all standards of runner because of its outstanding scenery and friendly village setting. Great fun in any weather so expect to dirty those new trainers on this rural gem of a route. Unfortunately the course is unsuitable for wheelchairs.

There are 800 spaces available on the race, which has been over subscribed for the last two years. Book early to avoid disappointment!
